Veteran paceman Kemar Roach and young all-rounder Nkrumah Bonner have been invited to join the West Indies One Day International Team in the Three-Way Series in India starting February 6th.

Roach, who hasn't played List A cricket since the last ODI in 2019, returned with the great Desmond Haynes of the West Indies and added him to the first-team selection after taking over the lead selector.

Six newcomers, led by Kiron Polard, who lost to Ireland in their hometown, have joined the team.

ODI vs. India will take place on February 6th, 9th, and 11th at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The

T20I will be performed at Eden Gardens in Kolkata on February 16, 18, and 20, and the team will be announced on Friday. Alongside the

veteran Roach, 22-year-old Bonner was an intermediate-level batter and his last ODI was just a year ago. And the opener Brandon King was called on the roster. The last ODI outing for the 27-year-old King was in 2020.

Kemar Roach is one of our leading fast bowlers and we believe we need bowlers upfront to get an early wicket, and Kemar, with an economy rate of five, is certainly good enough to play. Over the last few years, Nkrumah Bonner’s cricket has come on leaps and bounds and we believe he should be given an opportunity to play in the 50-over format,” Lead Selector, Desmond Haynes, said.

“We want to have competition for places. We want to reach a stage where we have a lot of players fighting for positions. We want to broaden the pool of players we have to choose from. The team we have selected is a very good side and we are looking at this tour as part of the preparations for the World Cup in India in 2023,” he added.
